Introduction

Quick start

From a fresh browser to a first order. You need a wallet with USDC on Arbitrum or HyperEVM; depositing from Arbitrum also takes a little ETH there for gas.

New to trading or to crypto? Choose I'm new to trading when the desk first asks, or Simple at the top of the page. Get started then takes you one step at a time: get a wallet, connect it, add money, then turn on trading. See Simple mode.

Open the desk

Go to the terminal. Without a wallet you can already browse markets, the chart and the order book. To look around with real positions first, choose Watch an address in the wallet dialog: any account opens read-only.

Connect a wallet

Click Connect wallet. Rabby and other browser wallets are found automatically. MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet work as a browser extension or, from a computer, as a phone app through a QR code. The connected address is your trading account. More in Wallets and the trading key.

Enable trading

Click Start trading. Your wallet signs two messages; neither costs gas:

  1. The approval of a trading key that this browser keeps. It is valid for 180 days.
  2. The approval of the 0.025% builder fee. See Fees.

Each row shows a check mark when done, or the wallet's or exchange's reason when it is not. After this, orders go out without wallet pop-ups.

Deposit USDC

Click Deposit in the top bar. From Arbitrum, Circle moves the USDC to your account and keeps a small forwarding fee (0.20 USDC at the time of writing); it usually arrives within a minute. From HyperEVM there is no fee and the balance is credited at once. Details in Deposits and withdrawals.

Place a first order

  1. Pick a market in the market picker.
  2. Choose Long or Short, and Market, Limit or Trigger.
  3. Type the stop loss, as a price such as 81000 or a distance such as 1%.
  4. Set Risk: the percent of your account you accept to lose if the stop is hit.
  5. Add a take profit if you want one. The summary shows the size, leverage, liquidation price, loss at the stop, profit at the target after fees, and reward : risk.
  6. Click the order button, then click it again to confirm.

Practice on testnet. Settings switches between mainnet and testnet; the top bar shows an amber "Testnet" tag while you are on it. Circle only credits testnet deposits to addresses that also have a mainnet account.
